The High School Outreach Program consists
of free, individual, supportive, confidential
counselling located in Secondary School Guidance
departments across York Region. The program
is currently operating in 14 schools in York
Region. The goal of the counselling program
is to provide immediate assistance to students
for a variety of "personal issues"
including, but not limited to:
Sexual abuse / assault
Date rape
Sexual harassment
Healthy relationships
Dating relationships
Self harm – AKA self-mutilation
Sexual orientation
Self esteem / body image

Students in need of the counselling service can be referred through their guidance
departments, or by calling the administration number of our office 905.895.3646 – Students
calling from long distance are welcomed to call COLLECT and indicate that they
are a high school student.
In addition to counselling, the HOP also offers:
Peer Training Workshops
GIRLS GAB: an 8 week GROUP WORKSHOP
for girls aimed at creating awareness
of the issues girls face in our society
while empowering them and increasing their
self esteem
