Description:

Provides feminist, client-centered, supportive, non-judgmental, confidential counselling to women who have experienced sexual violence including:
  • Childhood sexual abuse
  • Historical and recent sexual assault
  • Ritual abuse
  • Sexual harassment
Women refer themselves to the counselling service by calling the administrative phone line at 905-895-3646. Counsellors work with women regarding their presenting issues, help women build up on their coping skills and break the isolation of sexual violence.

Counselling Options:

1. Crisis Counselling
  • Free service
  • 1-3 appointments
  • can be seen by counsellor within two business days of initial contact
  • can be transferred to brief counselling (Maximum of 3 months) or go on waitlist for short term counselling (Maximum 6 months)
2. Brief Counselling
  • Free service
  • Maximum of 3 months of counselling
  • based on counsellor availability
  • a counsellor will call you back within one to two business days to discuss with you the availability of the next counselling spot
3. Short term Counselling
  • Free Service
  • Maximum of 6 months of counselling
  • There is currently a waiting list for this stream of counselling
Creating Connections: Workshops for Women:
  • Are you a woman who is 16 years and older?
  • Is healing and growth important to you?
  • Are you looking to talk with other women and share ideas in a supportive, affirming and fun atmosphere?
  • Workshops are free and range from various topics like: yoga, self-defense, grounding techniques, understanding the healing process and much, much more!

The Workshops series runs throughout the year and if you are interested call to get more information.
